Positively Peaceful Tote Bag
This piece was created to bring me to my happy place, to paint myself into a positive mindset. Instead of expressing the sadness I was feeling I intentionally decided to use this process as a way to uplift myself. So I started with the sun to soothe myself into the warmth, I picked a colour palette that felt welcoming, and I danced my brushes around playfully to evoke the joy of sunshine. After completing the piece I realized the inspiration came from the way the sun dances on open bodies of water, it provides little hints of light throughout the waves and makes me feel at peace watching the magic of nature. My process worked and left me feeling more at peace in my own body, a reminder that we can choose our mindsets and we can move through our emotions to find the light.
